When we arrived, the place hadn't been cleaned properly. We asked the landlord to clean it again, and that delayed check-in by six hours. The accommodation also felt out of date. While we were watching TV, it broke down, and it turned out to be old and already broken. We were blamed for its condition and they refused to return our security deposit. Very disappointing.

The apartment was very nice, and we would gladly have come back if not for the security deposit trouble. We were accused of leaving a carpet stain, but we'd noticed it when we arrived and thought it was ordinary wear and tear. It had already been treated, though we can't prove the stain was there when we took over the apartment. There was no on-site inspection or handover, so it came down to our word against theirs. We got back only half the deposit. It was very frustrating and ruined our relaxing stay. I'd advise documenting everything and insisting on an on-site inspection and handover.
