The house is fine and the location is good, but there’s a lot of wear that seems to end up being charged to guests. There were scratches across the wallpaper and a tiny burn hole in the laminate, which turned out to be old damage after we objected. There was also wallpaper damage caused by someone else, presumably the cleaning staff, who handle the handover and acceptance. We never spoke with Meerfischland directly; everything was contactless through a key box, with the handover done while guests were absent. The beds are worn out, especially in the main bedroom, where back pain feels almost guaranteed. If mice bother you, don’t lift the compost bin lid in the garden. There’s no organic waste bin. The garden furniture is old too and needs replacing. I wouldn’t recommend it for a summer stay. Future guests would have to photograph every corner, wall, and square meter both on arrival and when leaving to avoid problems. Who actually does that? We won’t stay with Meerfischland again. We’d rather rent privately, with personal contact and a proper handover.
