The front desk service bothered me most. They weren’t friendly, and the signs around the hotel felt harsh, with all those “!!!”. Working with people takes the right attitude and actually enjoying it. I also haven’t been to another hotel that wouldn’t let us take even a piece of fruit from breakfast for a snack. That matters with small kids, and lots of hotels let children take apples or bananas. The setting itself is good, with direct access to the forest, and we could swim in the outdoor pool even on a 21°C day since it’s heated to 25°C. Breakfast had a variety of options, though I wanted more fresh fruit than the cut-up fruit salad. The facilities are older but kept up well. To rent a bike, you have to walk 1 km from the hotel to the town center.

Even for just one night, we loved staying here. It’s a big hotel, but you feel at home straight away. Breakfast was fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the pool looked nice. There are bikes to rent and a game room with a fussball table.

The buffet breakfast had a wonderful range of food, and I can’t leave out the world’s best herring salad. We had a splendid weekend in a beautiful setting at a very quiet, excellent hotel. Our room was roomy and comfortable, and the pool and sauna were in excellent condition.

I was very disappointed by how the reception handled my call. I’d booked a few days in Germany, then circumstances beyond my control meant I had to cancel. I realized the booking had no refund, but I couldn’t change the dates either. When I called to explain, I was rudely told, “Sorry, I cannot help you.” I’d canceled almost immediately, more than a week before the stay, giving the hotel time to sell the room again. I could understand keeping the money for a last-minute cancellation, but this was upsetting.

The three-course dinner was both excellent and reasonably priced. This is a nice wellness hotel, though a bit dated. The wellness area was okay, but it doesn’t compare with a modern spa or wellness hotel. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach.
