The sea view is hard to beat, and it makes it easier to overlook some issues. The apartments vary in how modern they are depending on the owner, and some could really use an update. In some places, the toilet seat, shower, and fittings seem close to falling apart, though that's not true everywhere. The apartments are also very poorly soundproofed. We had bad luck with the weather and aren't very mobile anymore because of our age. Very active people lived above us, and from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm a digger kept moving back and forth to the construction site next door, so we didn't find any peace this time. It feels like building work has been going on for years. A lovely wooden house used to be next door, but now the area is being filled with showy buildings, even though there are empty properties on the promenade. We can't understand it, but that's capitalism. The reception is no longer in the building, and there's a sauna instead. A washing machine and dryer are available for a fee, but they were constantly occupied by housekeeping or out of order, and weren't very well maintained. The bread roll service they used to offer is gone. For people with limited mobility, I'd only recommend staying here if you have a car, since reaching the pier means taking lots of stairs or walking the long way around. You should try to book on the top floor and check in advance whether parking is included if you need it, as well as what equipment the apartment has.

The pier and beach are beautiful, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Still, Sellin as a whole seemed a little run-down, with many empty buildings, and the accommodation had quite a few problems despite its attractive, modern rooms. The dishwasher didn't clean properly, and the washing machine was hard to find at first and wasn't free as described. Our linen package, with towels and bed linen, was missing when we arrived, though it was replaced quickly. The charge was very high and unreasonable, and the towels weren't really clean. Basic things like toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, paper towels, bin bags, and a second sponge were missing. Cleaning seemed to have been skimped on. When someone cleaned the upper balcony, they couldn't see that we were sitting and eating below, and dirt fell onto our breakfast, which we had to throw away.

The pier was only a few minutes away, and parking was easy with plenty of spaces. Apartment 23 was clean and tidy, and we were satisfied apart from the very weak water pressure at the sink and shower. That really needs fixing.

It's a beautiful place, but the parking situation is a mess, with no dedicated space for everyone. The furniture is disgusting and badly needs replacing, and the brick grill in the barbecue area is falling apart. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, and the bathroom is completely outdated. There's a lot of work to do here, so I don't understand the glowing reviews. Yes, it's nice here.
