The apartment this time was on the third floor, but there’s a spacious, quiet elevator. Bringing a dog is no problem, and the landlords are nice. Shopping, the beach, and the steam railway are all nearby, there’s a good bakery close by, and there’s a car parking area behind the house. I’ve now had my third holiday here with my mother, who is 86. One small drawback, I’d have liked a toaster :-) All in all, I give it 5 stars.
The island and the location were fantastic, but I wouldn't book this place again. The room was clean and reasonably furnished, yet the bed was much too narrow for two people to share for a week, and its mattress was clearly worn. The blackout curtains were terrible: in summer it was already far too bright at 4:30 in the morning. The refrigerator was also incredibly loud, which was unacceptable.
The rooms were clean and tidy, and the central location worked well. A toaster would have been useful. In summer, the room was as bright as day at 4:30 pm without blackout curtains, which is especially awkward with small children. The mattresses in the double bed also slid apart quickly, leaving a huge gap. Apart from those two or three issues, things were mostly fine.
The location is great, and the host is nice. The refrigerator and sofa are incredibly loud, though, and the bathroom drain leaks so badly that the floor floods after every use. Parking costs extra per day, and so does bringing a dog.
