The location is peaceful, on a small rise with an easy walk into town, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, though it ends right at 9 a.m., so there’s no chance to sleep late. This is one of only two hotels in town, which limits the options. Some rooms allow smoking, and the hallways smelled strongly of it whenever I came and went. The free Wi-Fi kept logging me out, and housekeeping repeatedly tried my door around 8 in the morning.

For a budget stay, this small family-run hotel has a lot going for it. The chef makes a very good dinner, and the beer is great; Colaweissen is a good pick. Breakfast has a fresh selection. Wi-Fi is unreliable at times, though it does keep working, and the walls are thin. The beds are okay, the showers are a bit cramped, but there’s always hot water. Smoking is allowed in some rooms. A simple place I’d recommend to frugal travelers.

The evening meal staff were very friendly, and the view of the old graveyard is great. It’s also handy for hiking up and down, and very inexpensive. The walls are thin, though, and the beds weren’t very comfortable.
