Stella Maris Modern Retreat

The location right by the lake is fantastic, and the house has lots of room. Blinds and mosquito nets on every window were handy, and the TV is a good size. The washing machine and dryer were great, while the sauna and wellness area were excellent. A couple of small things kept me from giving it 5 stars: a barbecue at the house would be nice, and the Wi-Fi could be better so it reaches the terrace well.

The grounds are superbly maintained, with lots of activities for all ages, and you can step straight from the private dock into the water. The house has everything you need. Booking was easy, and communication with the landlord was excellent, with information emails and a digital guest folder. We’d love to come back 😎

We’ve already booked the house again for next year. There’s tons of space, a sauna, a wellness shower, and a fantastic view of the water from the terrace. Maybe there’ll be less algae in the tidal creek then. We’ve been coming to Otterndorf for six years, but this place beats all the others. It’s a wonderful holiday home that leaves nothing to be desired!!

We don’t usually choose holiday complexes, but we’d happily come back here. The house was clean and had everything we needed, and the complex was well maintained. The management and owners seem very active. We had a great week and enjoyed it all. The water around the complex is larger than I expected. Each house has its own small boat dock, and a canoe apparently comes free, so I can imagine it being lovely in good weather. Cuxhaven is nearby and worth a visit, and there’s a discount supermarket close by. Check rental prices carefully, as they can vary quite a bit. I was fine with the extra charges for heating and so on. I paid about €50 for the week, much more than I’ve paid in Denmark. Highly recommended.
