Landhotel Schöll

There’s plenty of parking for a hotel this size, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food and breakfast are great. Most of the rooms are under the DOD daily limit, and the hotel is very close to the military base.

The seasoning was good, and I do like salt, but the food was much too salty. It seemed like it might just have been an off night, so I’d like to come back another night and compare.

The food is what brings the score up for me. Dinner has always been excellent, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious, with plenty of breads, fruit, and meats. The kind service is A+ too. The rooms are clean and efficient, though the bathroom is too small, and I was a little miffed that the TV had no English channels. It’s a quaint guesthouse in the small village of Hormannsdorf, and I highly recommend Landkomforthotel Scholl. German beer for 2.7 Euro is a nice extra.

Breakfast is the one positive, with a decent range of typical German items. Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms and bathrooms in the main building are way too small, the WiFi sucks, and in summer the rooms get too hot to sleep in. Since the place is right next to a farmer, you can smell the manure. The restaurant is overpriced and the quality is lacking. It’s a family business with only a handful of people working there, so you end up waiting for everything. They seem to stay in business because of the military community, with PCS season and training rotations. I’d look for somewhere in Parsberg instead.
