The café by the lighthouse is lovely, and the food is tasty, made with fresh ingredients.

We stayed for one night during the winter break, when the hotel was technically closed. The description may make the stay sound worse than it was intended to be, because the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. We were welcomed warmly at reception and given a list of places for dinner and breakfast. The room was clean and cozy. If you're worried about the lighthouse, its spotlight is a focused beam that goes out to sea well beyond the hotel, not into the rooms.

The room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and spotless. The bathroom was a little small, and its partly see-through sliding door only partly separated it from the sleeping area. That's fairly common in accommodations now, though. We loved the location right by the lighthouse and on the dike, with lots of free parking. Many thanks to our friendly hosts, who patiently answered all our questions. The food was excellent, especially the homemade bread and jams. There was plenty, and everything tasted delicious. Our wonderful stay ended much too soon. We'll definitely be back!

The garden wasn't quite ready when we visited in May, but I can picture having a cold beer there on a warm summer evening with the lighthouse in view. Our room was clean and a good size, though it could use some updating. The receptionist and the young man at breakfast were both very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous and good, served efficiently in a pleasant, bright room. Staying overnight in the lighthouse while visiting the island was a great experience. Definitely recommended!
