Parkhotel Pfarrkirchen

Some things about the stay were frustrating: in winter I was left outside trying to get in, and had lots of questions. Thanks to a Croatian guy who helped me with German. There were some problems with English, the bathroom was a bit cold, the cleaning staff were sometimes annoying, and the soundproofing was pretty bad. Even so, I gave the room 7/10 because one receptionist was friendly and I liked the design, kettle, and fridge. I’d put the stay around 5-6/10 even without the later conflict. A few hours after I posted the review on Booking, they started threatening to kick me out and insisted I delete it because 7/10 was “insulting for them and low.” I didn’t remove it, and they did kick me out. I didn’t know what to do or where to go. Nice. 0/10. Update, 2025, five years later: they tried to threaten me with a “legal” complaint to get the review removed. I sent Google proof, so here I am. I won’t forget or forgive what happened during my first days in Germany, when I was already in an extremely difficult situation.

They charge the full amount when you cancel, even if you’re entitled to a reduced cancellation fee. Don’t stay here. Go somewhere else.

The owner was unpleasant, refused to return our calls, and claimed the hotel had suddenly filled up. Her tone and manner were shocking. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The hotel is family managed, centrally located, and still quiet. The rooms were great, and breakfast was very good too. The owner was the nicest hotel owner I’ve ever met.
