The food and coffee choices were a real plus, and the staff were good. The place has an attractive, interesting layout; our small room was clean and I had no issue with that. I booked two nights but left after one. The thin walls made it impossible for me to sleep well. Conversations from next door came through so clearly I could make out the words, and I could also hear footsteps, voices, doors, and even the plumbing and running water from above. I’m a light sleeper, and after one awful night I knew another would leave me feeling worse, so I went home early. The rooms feel overpriced for a building with this kind of construction. The hotel can’t really change that now, though choosing cheap walls when it was built has consequences. It may be fine if you’re there alone or with a small group in a quiet season, when there aren’t many other guests, or if you can sleep through anything. But if you’re a light sleeper, or already find it hard to sleep deeply somewhere new, you’re at the mercy of other guests’ schedules, including people returning to their rooms well after midnight.

The architecture has a simple look, with lovely wooden octagonal roofs, and the whole place feels relaxing. I liked the roomy lobby with its big seating areas and the huge breakfast space. Breakfast was good, the room interiors were neat, and the staff were helpful. It’s quite isolated, but that’s part of what you expect from a resort.
