Alpenhotel Krone

Our room looked out over a meadow with cows, and it was very comfortable. I stayed with my daughter, and the women at reception and in the restaurant were so friendly. The food was good, and we got a tourist card for local activities like rafting and biking. We enjoyed it so much that we’re planning another stay here at Christmas.

It’s a very clean hotel and looks freshly renovated, so it could work well for a short visit. For a longer stay, I’d look elsewhere. Flies were everywhere and got in the way during meals. There’s no AC or window bug screen, which means summer can be stifling, with mosquitoes coming in if you open the windows. At breakfast, the waitress serving me didn’t speak English, so asking questions or ordering from the menu was a struggle.

We spent a romantic weekend here, and the village was lovely. See if you can find the little alpine garden park. The restaurant really impressed me, especially the artistic way the dishes were arranged. Our room was cozy and clean, and I liked the bathroom even though it had no bathtub. The staff were very friendly, there were loads of international TV channels, and Neuschwanstein Castle was a short drive away. The only small downside was the rather slow internet.

Our room looked out toward the mountains, and you can see plenty of them from the front of the hotel too. It’s easy to get to from the train station, and there’s a lift, keys, and a cab service if requested. Service was great and cleanliness was top-notch. Breakfast was a typical German spread with good local bread and cheese. There’s a restaurant in the hotel, though it was very expensive. For the money, I’d give it full marks.
