A charming, family-run little hotel in lovely mountain scenery, with beautiful landscapes all around. The rooms were newly renovated in 2023, and you're only a couple of minutes by car from the Austrian border. The in-house restaurant may be the best I've tried in Germany, thanks to its formidable cook, who previously worked with legends Eckart Witzigmann and Harald Wohlfahrt. If you're in the area for schloss Neuschwanstein or the beautiful lakes, this local secret is well worth a visit for a meal in the german Biergarten, or by the fire in winter.
