Hey Lou Hotel Piding

The location worked really well for us, around 20 minutes from Salzburg and under 90 minutes from Hallstatt. There’s a Burger King right beside the hotel, which was handy. Check-in and check-out were easy, and we weren't charged for parking. Our room was small but well cared for. There was no kettle, though reception lent us one.

The room was clean and fine, but there was no coffee or tea. Self check-in was awkward and didn't work properly. We were also surprised to be charged for parking. That's ridiculous, and we've never had that happen at a motel before. Unfortunately, it made for an overpriced night.

The website says check-in is available 24 hours, but after we booked at 6 pm, the hotel was closed and we couldn't get the keys. We ended up searching for another hotel after midnight, which was awful. Someone at reception should have checked that every guest could access their room. Avoid this place if you'll be arriving later in the evening.

We'd happily stay here again. It's a small hotel with a lovely interior and pretty surroundings, close to the motorway exit and very near Salzburg. Our room was compact but comfortable, clean, and well designed. Reception is open around the clock, and the staff there were friendly. Breakfast buffet was included in the price. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance, plus a few nearby outlet stores, including Nike and Adidas.
