Bright.

I had a nice, roomy bedroom, and the common room was big and pleasant too. My company had booked the place. The kitchen was a letdown, though, with very old pots and other equipment. I was given three small towels, but they were wet, and with the heating out there was no way to dry them. 😒

There’s a shop right next door, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is decent overall, with a communal kitchen where you can make meals. A few things brought it down for me: the shared bathroom was clean, but there’s no parking in front of the guesthouse, and the beds squeak. That’s why I gave it four stars.

I was really disappointed with this stay. I’d booked a double room with a shared bathroom, but was given what felt like a storage room, with just a single bed and a wardrobe. The bathroom and toilet were shared, as were the kitchen and living room, so it was noisy. A group of bikers partied late into the night. There was also a musty smell in my room, with the chip shop’s ventilation system just below the so-called hotel. You have to check in at the gas station across the street.
