Aparthotel Am See

The room was nice and clean, and breakfast was great, with very friendly, attentive staff. We also met a lovely person at reception, and the waiter in the restaurant on our last evening was quick, capable, and so nice. The food was delicious, so thanks to the chef. Our arrival, though, was a rough start. At reception, we got a form and a quick rundown of the pool, sauna, and breakfast, but no real welcome. When we asked about the shuttle, the answer was just that it came every two hours, with no clear time or directions to the stop. We're not from the area, so “at the bus stop” wasn't much help. We were told our room was on the second floor and to go right over, but the key hadn't actually been given to us. The receptionist found it behind the counter and set it down without a word. We had to carry our heavy bags upstairs ourselves. At the last hotel, someone had helped us. There isn't much privacy in the room, since you can see straight to the bed from the neighboring balconies. The place has clearly seen better days, and the panoramic roof would show the stars if it were clean. The felt balcony carpet is impractical too. It gets soaked when it rains, even with half the balcony covered, and never seems to dry. We were already worried about breakfast after that first impression, but it turned out really well.

The studio apartment was lovely for our short break, with a little kitchen and a wonderful view. The weather wasn't great, or we might have seen the stars from bed. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the restaurant food was delicious, especially the venison goulash. The pool's counter-current system and small sauna made for a relaxing stay. We'll definitely return.

A weekend of wellness where we could unwind, breathe deeply, and feel good. The capable team is available day and night, and listens and does their best to meet your wishes. Highly recommended.

We've returned to this hotel for several years and always enjoy our stays. When everyday life calls for a break, this is a lovely place to take one. The staff are so friendly, the grounds are well cared for, and the rooms feel cozy. There are great walks nearby, and you can watch the sunrise over Lake Plau for free. Highly recommended.
