Guest house Villa Fritz

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was a dream. My stay at Pension Villa Fritz was short but really pleasant. There was a small bottle of sparkling wine and a bottle of water in the room, plus as much tea and coffee as you liked outside. The TV worked, but it only had German programs. The location is great, about a 15-minute walk to the city center with a tram stop very close by. The Glienicker Brücke and the Green House at the lake are both a short walk away, and there’s a theater right across the street. I was facing away from the street, and although being on the street is usually a problem, I didn’t hear any traffic or even the tram. Just great, five stars for that.

We had a lovely weekend at Villa Fritz. The owner was very pleasant to deal with, and the room had plenty of useful information about restaurants and the area. It was charmingly decorated, with lovely furniture, a huge comfortable bed, and even a little coffee and tea station. The villa is stylish and brilliantly placed for getting to the sights on foot, by car, or on public transport. There’s plenty of parking right by the house. We’d happily stay again.

The parking was a little tricky, so I’d take off a star for that, though the location itself was superb. The house is furnished with so much care and attention to its history that it feels like stepping into another time. At the same time, it’s really comfortable and has everything you need. I also loved the small detail of having washcloths with the towels. Five stars are well deserved.

I spent my 39th birthday in Berlin on October 13th and was completely happy with my stay overall. I loved the villa’s old-fashioned charm and its central but peaceful, tucked-away setting. The location was quiet while still making the city centers easy to reach. The guest relations manager at reception, who was Polish, Ukrainian, or Kazakhstani, was wonderful and even helped me with the coffee machine when I couldn’t get it working properly. I also noticed the next day that staff check whether rooms are safe to enter or guests are still at the guesthouse. It seemed a little surprising at first, but it makes sense to make sure guests get fresh bedding and towels. The one real problem was the shower: in the evenings the water was lukewarm to cold, which isn’t acceptable when you want to take a shower. I was there from October 13th to 15th.
