Ferienhaus Jule

The location is great, with a lovely beach and nice walking trails along the Achterwasser lagoon. The property is fully fenced, and there’s a sandbox for children. The holiday home itself is lovely, though the outdoor area has a couple of letdowns: the outdoor kitchen can’t be used, and the ping-pong table is broken.

Evenings on the terrace became one of our favorite parts of the stay. We’d sit with a glass of wine and watch birds of prey circle overhead or storks pass over the garden. Our 10-year-old Irish Setter, Sunny, also loved the garden. He’s used to lots of space at home, and here he had almost the same freedom under the big weeping willow, where we could read or listen to music in the shade. We spent 12 wonderful days on Usedom, hiking, cycling, swimming at secluded beaches, and visiting sights. There are plenty of paths close by, and we explored national parks and the surrounding countryside. The secluded beaches were especially good for Sunny. We also enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the Imperial Spas. By car, the Imperial Spas to the east and the Amber Spas to the west are both about 10 minutes away. The garden is much larger than the official photos suggest, with green hedges and lovely trees that screen the neighbors so well that you can hardly see or hear them. There’s a beautifully landscaped pond, two big terrace tables, one sheltered and one open air, a parasol, and a nicely arranged barbecue area. It’s a peaceful setting if you want to avoid the seaside resort crowds and spend time in nature. Holiday home Jule was almost too spacious for just the two of us, but we liked having all that room on vacation. The house looks just as the owner pictured it: bright, clean, comfortable, inviting, and nicely furnished. There’s also a storage room with a vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron, and other useful things that aren’t mentioned in the listing. Our dealings with the holiday home managers, "USEDOMLIEBE Feriendomizile," were very pleasant. They answered our questions beforehand quickly, courteously, and professionally. The key handover was friendly too, and we could have contacted them at any time during our stay. We didn’t need to, as there wasn’t a single problem. We hope Sunny stays healthy and fit until next summer, because we definitely want to come back. P.S. Only a few photos can be added to a review. Everything was great. A key safe for picking up and leaving the keys would be handy, as would secure bicycle parking, though I realize not everyone needs that.
