The breakfast was the best part of our stay, with plenty of breads, eggs, cold cuts, jams, spreads, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, and fruit. The breakfast staff were surprisingly good too. We paid 100 Euro per night for each of four rooms, breakfast included, during a two-night weekend with friends. Our rooms were clean, but the stay felt a little underwhelming for the price. There was no kettle, hairdryer, shampoo, or fridge, the hand soap dispenser didn't work, and the pillows were uncomfortable. The reception staff were rather rude overall, which made us hesitant to ask about basic things like cleaning, parking, or other services. The hotel is centrally placed for many popular sites, though its location felt average to us since the main beach spots on Rügen Island were at least 20 km away.

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast tasted great, even if it was the same each day. The hotel furnishings are quite old-fashioned. Its location works very well for anyone wanting to explore Rugen Island.

The breakfast and location were good, and so were the gentleman at the hotel in the evening and the woman handling breakfast and check-out in the morning. Check-in, though, was disappointing because the woman there wasn't very good. The hotel is showing its age, but that doesn't excuse a dirty bathroom with mold in the shower stall. A discount would be fair in that situation, but none has been offered so far.

I enjoyed staying in this quaint hotel, which has a lot of history. The photo wall shows the many artists from East Germany who have stayed here. My room looked right out onto the "Rasender Roland" (a historic steam train) as it passed my window. Breakfast was very good, with eggs available if you wanted them, and I had plaice for dinner one evening. That was very good too.
