Ferienwohnung im Damm

We’ve never had such a bad vacation apartment, or room. It was a dark, damp hole, uncomfortable and put together without care. The shower grout had mold, the furniture was worn, and everything felt very basic. We needed the lights on even during the day. After a long wait, the TV only showed one image across two or three channels, and the advertised DVD player wasn’t there. The terrace shown in the listing could only be reached from outside the room, down a long, dark hallway, instead of directly from the room as we expected. The online photos were staged very skillfully, credit to the photographer. Luckily the weather was beautiful, so we spent most of our time outside in the otherwise lovely town of Quedlinburg before returning to our damp bed.

The hosts were kind and friendly, and it was a pleasure staying here. The room is quiet, on a peaceful street, and the views are lovely as soon as you step outside. The city center is close, though you can walk across the whole city in about an hour. Inside, there’s a TV, private kitchen and bathroom, a huge bed, plus thoughtful extras like a coffee machine, toaster, hairdryer, umbrellas, and plenty of dishes and utensils. The ceilings are very low, maybe two meters at most, but I liked that; it made the place feel like a real half-timbered house.

Lovingly decorated and practical, with everything we needed. The apartment was truly wonderful and clean, right in the center of Quedlinburg.

We’ve had so many wonderful stays here over the years, coming several times a year. The hostess is super nice, and the small accommodation is perfectly laid out. The city center is just around the corner. First class and unique, thank you!
