Little Casablanca

Our room, Little Queens, was spacious for two and had a shower, but we had no river view and the walls weren’t soundproof. There were a few utensils in a drawer, though washing them was awkward with only the bathroom sink. One roll of toilet paper and a small face and body towel were provided. The bathroom had hand soap, so bring your own toiletries. There’s no shared kitchen. It’s fine for sleeping and showering, but anyone hoping to save money by cooking should book a room with a kitchen. There’s no air conditioning, so it may get warm in summer. The place is near Quedlinburg station, at least a 10-minute walk away. Since there’s no sign, finding it at first was confusing. Penny was the nearest supermarket, and having a car would help, since there’s a lot of walking involved in exploring the area. To get the door key, you enter a four-digit code into the lockbox outside the apartment. There’s no reception, so you have to find your own room. We paid €145, including a €45 cleaning fee per stay and a €15 bedding fee per stay. There was also a €12 tourist tax to pay separately by bank transfer, listed as €3 per adult per day. There’s a long list of house rules, with specific charges for each violation.

The room was large, clean, and nice, with friendly people around and good parking. “Finn,” who was about 11 or 12, greeted us and answered lots of questions :-) “Lars” then showed us to our room. At first, getting a response by phone seemed slow, and we thought we’d booked “Little Casablanca” but ended up with a different room. Still, I’d recommend the place. Don’t give up over the phone contact... 8-D

We never got the PIN, so we couldn’t get into the holiday apartment. We called several times, but nobody answered, and we had to leave. That’s unacceptable. It was also extremely hard to get in touch with the provider afterward. A real shame.

The location is good and the apartment itself is very nice for two people. For four, though, the sofa bed makes it unsuitable. That sofa bed just isn’t acceptable.
