Landhotel Zum Heideberg

We really enjoyed the stay. The room was great, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good. At breakfast, though, the woman taking orders for eggs and sausages could have paid more attention, and the tables needed clearing more often.

We won't celebrate or stay overnight here with our family again. The prices felt exorbitant and unjustified for what was offered, so the value for money was completely unacceptable. The soap dispensers were filthy, with brown gunk around the bottom and inside the screw cap. When I returned the broken dispenser, I got rude replies. The staff and management were very unfriendly, and their bad mood seemed to spill over onto guests at breakfast.

The location was great, but this was our worst hotel stay ever. Breakfast was okay, though nothing was replenished, and at checkout the hotel information desk was still unattended. We went back to the restaurant, where staff still seemed stressed, and waited 20 minutes for someone to serve us. Our room was filthy: stained carpet, dust everywhere, dirty windows, mold and grime in the bathroom, and lots of hair from the previous guest. There was no mattress protector, the bed was worn out, and the electrical outlets were right next to the pillows. When we arrived at 3:00 PM, reception was unattended. We went to the restaurant and waited about 15 minutes for someone who seemed to know anything. We got stressed looks, then were told hurriedly that dinner would involve a wait because they had an event and didn't know when its guests would want to eat. The night was noisy because of the event.

The bathroom was too small for me, and I wasn't keen on the shower curtain, so I took off one point. I stayed for 3 nights, and otherwise everything was fine. Dinner was very good and good value, the value for money was good, and breakfast was adequate to good.
