It has aged well, with a dated feel that keeps its charm. The place is quiet and comfortable, without any pretension. When I need to be near Berlin but away from the city, this is my usual place to stay. It also works well for a night after arriving late at Willy Brandt’s airport. The staff are polite, helpful, and always positive. If you can, book a room overlooking the lake. In summer, having your first coffee on the balcony comes with spectacular scenery.

We had lunch by the lake on a sunny day. The location was lovely, the food was very good, and the service was friendly. Dogs aren’t allowed, so we had to leave ours in the car.

Good to see a salad with plenty of vegetables, so there’s no hunting around for them. Even the tomatoes were the pricey cherry kind. Nicely done.

The balcony has a nice view, and there’s a restaurant downstairs overlooking the lake. On a hot summer night, I was glad there was a net on the window. The hotel is clean but a little dated, and its location near the autobahn made it handy for my stopover. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, though, so neither my husband nor I got a good night’s rest.

The lake view and the quiet were a real plus, and the people working there were polite and helpful from the start. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and had all the amenities. Dinner at the restaurant was good, though breakfast was pretty average, with only a small buffet selection. The surrounding area felt rather run-down and quiet, with relatively few people around in the middle of summer break. It made me wonder if this had once been a more popular spot for Berliners or other visitors. I hope I’m wrong about the area, but it didn’t feel especially lively.
