It was a lovely vacation in many ways, but the apartment's equipment could be improved. The only pan had no lid, and the sink was missing a plug. What really caught us off guard was the swiveling sink positioned over the toilet bowl. We hadn't seen that mentioned in the description beforehand, and the listing really ought to be updated.

The quiet setting, water view, and wide open landscape were the best parts. The rest left a lot to be desired: the decor feels dated, mismatched, and carelessly put together, and paint is smeared across the exposed beams. Sloppy work during the last renovation means the living room door won't close. The outdoor areas are neglected, the advertised playground is rather dated, and the place isn't suitable for fishing. At €10 for one hour, the sauna also feels overpriced.

Warthe really is a special place, and its quiet, unspoiled character grew on us. We would have liked to use the bikes, but that wasn't technically possible. The complex's service could be better, and the visitor guide descriptions need more research. After four days, we got used to having no internet or Wi-Fi. Two swallows' nests above the back entrance of house 4/2 leave droppings on the doorway, so breakfast on the terrace wasn't possible. A canopy would help, especially in the rain. The neighbors on both sides are very close, and their presence is hard to ignore in the evenings and at night. Hopefully one or two things can be fixed.

The house has potential, with a wonderfully quiet location and a dream of a garden, but we missed care and attention to detail. The furnishings have the feel of a youth hostel, seem to date from the mid-90s, and don't match the rental price. A small welcome card and other little touches, which you'd expect from hotels and Airbnbs these days, would have helped. Cleanliness was a problem: dust and cobwebs were everywhere, there was mold in the sink, and the toilets hadn't been cleaned properly. There were too few drinking glasses, though there were enough beer glasses. Internet fell far below current standards, leaving us offline much of the stay, and streaming didn't work at all. Basic things like cloths and dish towels should be supplied or offered for a small extra fee. The bed linen had holes, and charging an extra €10.00 for it was unacceptable. Garden work may be needed, but trimming hedges from 7:00 a.m. was unnecessary.
