Storchen

The price was completely out of line, and I won’t put Storchen on my list for future trips to Ravensburg. The breakfast was at a partner Gasthaus 200m away. It was okay, but walking there and back in the rain wasn’t a good start to the day. The building is old, and the hotel smelled old as soon as we went in. Our rooms were very small, and the mattresses were much too soft and so worn they sloped to one side. I had to use a pillow to keep from sliding off during the night. The wooden floor hadn’t been washed, and there were visible marks, maybe from something someone spilled. The Google pictures are misleading. Those nicer rooms may exist, but we certainly didn’t get one. I usually appreciate how hard it is to keep a business going, but Storchen let me down. An old building has obvious drawbacks, though some could be turned into advantages with a little creativity. Cleanliness matters, and in such a competitive hotel market this place fell short.
