Apartment Westside

My impression is that Westside is focused on the money. It was hard to reach customer service, and the apartment bore little resemblance to what Booking.com advertised. Such a shame, and I hope this review helps someone learn from it. We had trouble even getting started. The key box location card didn't match the written directions, though the text turned out to be right and the picture wrong. The doors also had no clear apartment numbers, but we found ours by following the instructions. Once inside, we saw that the lock was broken in half. It still worked, but didn't feel safe. Nobody picked up when I called. I got a quick text from Christian Hanika saying he was sorry, had a meeting, and asking what he could do. After I sent a photo, he said the damage was already known and a new lock had been ordered. That wasn't reassuring. The apartment looked nothing like the photos and was messy. The sofa, shown with a cover in the pictures, was so slippery it was more like a slide. Behind it, a mattress had long dark hairs on it, and the same hairs were on nails sticking out of the baseboards. The floor was dirty, so we were glad we'd brought slippers. The kitchen had very little in it, and everything was dusty or sticky. There was just one fork, as if the rest had walked away. We also slept badly. The IKEA Malm bed was narrow, its mattress far too soft, and the frame had a large hole from damage. In the bathroom, the sink was at knee height, there was no toilet paper holder, and the shower head had no rail to hold it upright. The bathtub finish was rough, and the toilet leaked. The parking we had paid for was taken when we got back from exploring. The person using it said they'd paid too. Calling brought no answer, followed by the same meeting text, twice since I'd called twice. Apparently there are meetings on Sundays as well. Eventually, presumably through a chatbot, we were offered a spot at another Westside location called "Sunshine." Even getting the key had been confusing: the card showing the key box didn't agree with the directions, although the written instructions were right and the image was wrong. The apartments were poorly marked, without clear numbers on the doors, but the instructions helped us find ours. The lock was broken in half when we arrived. It still worked, but I didn't feel safe. No one answered my call. Christian Hanika quickly texted that he was sorry, had a meeting, and asked what he could do. I sent a photo and was told the broken lock was already known and a replacement had been ordered. That didn't make me feel any better.
