We chose the roomy couple's double room, which was hotel standard, to save a bit of money. The kitchen was spotless and fully stocked. The owner, who runs a fairly priced convenience store called Mini-mart downstairs, was really helpful and spoke proper English. It's a lovely, clean, inexpensive place tucked into the city center, with lovely staff. Five stars from us. We'll come again.

The employees were so helpful and friendly, and they let me get some proper sleep before check-in. I was stranded in Regensburg, and this Hostel really saved my butt. It was a bit noisy, maybe, but that's city-center living :D Big thanks to the lovely people working there.

There are lots of clubs nearby, so expect real nighttime noise if you're staying before a weekend or bank holiday. It was incredibly loud right outside the window, and sleeping was impossible, especially with my roommate wanting to keep the window open. I also found some hairs in the showers, and the toilets didn't close properly. I wouldn't recommend it.

Free tea and coffee and pleasant decor were the only positives for me. The place felt like the cheapest option in every way: Wi-Fi worked in only half the rooms, and although I paid the extra sheet fee, there were no towels. Some of the staff were extraordinarily rude, smirking and telling me to leave if I didn't like it. I was moved to another room without notice or a real choice. It had no Wi-Fi and smelled even worse than the room I'd spent days trying to clean and air out. I guess that's what you get with the cheapest option, especially in Germany: rude inhumanity. Update: Shortly after writing this, I returned to the hostel and the owner reprimanded me for my evaluation. In his defense, I had to pay an extra 1 euro for a towel and for a smaller room to get Wi-Fi in the room, neither of which I had been told about. He clearly took pride in being rude and kicked me out.

Hygiene was very poor and the place was really dirty. It was chaotic and loud, and breakfast wasn't included. At this price in Germany, breakfast should be part of the deal, even if the place is international. Minus five stars would fit. I can't recommend it.
