The food and beer here are the best around. I’d happily make the drive even if I didn’t live nearby. Love this place!

The rooms are bright, welcoming, quiet, and clean, with good amenities. There’s also a small general store, where the service and advice are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. At the restaurant, the food is great, the beer is good, and the service is spot on. Prices are reasonable, too. This family-run business is a real pleasure, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

My wife and I have found a new favorite place, and we’re glad to drive an hour to get here. The prices are reasonable, especially considering we’ve had much worse meals elsewhere for a lot more money. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s hard to find another restaurant like this in Thuringia. There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the food, too. You can go hiking in the beautiful Thuringian Slate Mountains before or after eating, and the bowling alley is a lovely bonus. The owners are incredibly friendly, and they’ll make your favorite dishes if you ask ahead. Their home-brewed beer is fantastic. The ingredients are fresh, with no canned goods. The Thuringian cooking is truly excellent: the dumplings are amazing and completely homemade, just as they should be. I had carp today, and it was practically perfect, as were the green dumplings. Try it for yourself.

I always recommend the Rostbrätl (grilled pork). It’s a regular choice for me. The holiday apartments on site are modern, fully equipped, and consistently spotless, making them a lovely option for couples, families, or a relaxing weekend away. Liebengrün is a great pick for a quiet, cozy restaurant with accommodation in Thuringia. The inn has come a long way, with its own brewery and a kitchen that turns regional products into really delicious dishes. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is great, and it feels like a hidden gem away from the bustle.
