Hof Viehbrook

A great place.

We stayed for one night to get some quiet time in the countryside. The room was clean, though the mattresses felt a bit too hard for us, and the staff were friendly. We’d hoped to take something from the farm shop, but it was closed, and the vending machine wasn’t working. It didn’t have much in it anyway.

The animals seemed to be kept in an idyllic, humane way, but as vacation guests we unfortunately didn’t find much else to like about the farm. The amenities shown on Google were part of why I booked, but the farm shop and restaurant were closed. The food vending machine had only three products left and wasn’t restocked during our stay. We booked three nights, and the price felt far too high for what we got. The room didn’t seem properly cleaned: there were cobwebs, dead insects under the blinds, crumbs in the cutlery drawer, and a worn-out dish sponge. We also never got a reply to our questions, whether we asked verbally or in writing. The bed creaked whenever we moved, and the mattresses were extremely hard. The location also didn’t work well for me as a dog owner. There’s a small forest for a walk of about 20 minutes with a dog, but beyond that there were no walking or hiking trails, just the main road to walk up and down.

The price felt fair, the accommodation and surroundings were lovely, and everyone was welcoming. Everything worked out perfectly. Highly recommended!
