The room was huge, and breakfast was nice. I stayed four nights and found it peaceful and welcoming, with really good value for the price.

The place seems to have lost what made it so recommendable in its heyday. It especially needs more energetic, motivated management. The elderly lady fetches drinks one at a time from the cellar, rather than having them available from a machine or on an honor system. Breakfast came on a plate and was very meager. The friendliness also left something to be desired.

The breakfast room felt bright and welcoming, and the breakfast itself was good and plentiful. This is a lovely, quiet country inn in a historic setting and a great location, with nicely furnished rooms and very friendly staff. I'd recommend it to families as well as people travelling alone.

We stayed one night at the Landhotel Klostermühle while cycling along the beautiful Werra Cycle Path. The owner was exceptionally friendly, and we had a delicious dinner in the idyllic garden. Our room was modern and furnished with lovely attention to detail. Breakfast suited us just right. The Wi-Fi didn't work, though, and there were no toiletries beyond soap. With those things sorted, it would have been a five-star hotel.
