The food looked as good as it tasted, and the staff were kind and attentive. The rooms and wellness area are both designed and decorated with real care. This was my third stay at "Am Birkenhain", and each time I’ve felt at home. There’s such a harmonious feeling throughout the hotel. A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone. I’m coming back for the fasting hike next time, with Jens guiding and looking after us so lovingly and expertly. I’d recommend giving it a try. It’s a must for body, mind, and soul. A REAL SHAME! The hotel sits in lovely green surroundings, but the rooms felt very basic. The wardrobe’s sliding door was barely hanging on and wouldn’t open. The bathroom had gloomy neon lighting, and its fan kept droning with no way to switch it off. There were only two hooks for bathrobes and towels. The kitchen was slow too: two of us got our main courses, while the others waited almost 20 minutes. The next evening the timing was still uneven, even if the wait was shorter. When we mentioned it, the staff reacted irritably. With those prices, this is nowhere near a proper wellness hotel.

The restaurant has a lovely view, the food is excellent, and the staff are very friendly and willing to handle individual requests. The hotel itself is small and tucked into the woods in a region full of lakes, a peaceful spot if you like outdoor activities. The wellness facilities are fine, with a sauna and a relaxation area, though both are small and sparsely furnished.

The calm wellness area did a lot to soothe our stressed nerves. My wife and I had been looking online for a comfortable, quiet hotel at the edge of civilization after a demanding work week, August 1st to 3rd, 2015, and found Hotel AM BIRKENHAIN in LUME near Rheinsberg. It suited us perfectly. We were pleased with the location and comfortable room, as well as the organic-style cooking and the service from a very friendly, helpful team that worked well together. We’d recommend staying here.

The fasting hiking course is supervised so well, you couldn't ask for better! :-) The hotel has a distinctive style and is tastefully put together, especially the wellness area.
