Hausboot am Saaler Bodden, Ribnitz-damgarten

The lagoon view is lovely, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. But I only learned by asking that breakfast wasn’t included, which wasn’t ideal. The bathroom was in unacceptable shape: mold in the shower, green and gray buildup in the toilet, and the side entrance door and light fixture needed cleaning too. For €94, the value just isn’t there. I emailed them and got no reply, so I can’t recommend this guesthouse.

We could walk to the harbor easily, and the lagoon view was fantastic. Breakfast was nicely laid out, too. We stayed five nights and switched rooms without any trouble after the first two. We had a very nice time and will definitely be back. Best wishes, M+R Gill

The furniture isn’t new, but you can see that in advance. With the festive decorations, white chair covers, and all the candles, it didn’t stand out and looked beautiful. The staff had put a lot of thought into setting everything up, and I’m very grateful. We held our son’s wedding at the guesthouse, with 40 invited guests. Even our slightly unusual requests were no problem beforehand. Everything was arranged and decorated just as we’d pictured and discussed, from the champagne reception through coffee and cake to dinner. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There was plenty of food at the cold and hot buffet, it was beautifully presented, and everyone enjoyed it. The guests all raved about the chef. I’ve read the reviews and can’t understand them, because we discussed the menu beforehand and the chef was happy to accommodate every request. On behalf of the bride and groom, thank you to the organizer, staff, and chef. Everyone had a great time, and it was a wonderful celebration. Thank you for everything!

The restaurant downstairs was closed and seems to only open in summer. Breakfast was served at 8:00 a.m., with no later option. The guesthouse feels a bit dated, especially the bathrooms, but the room itself was lovely and small, right beside the lagoon.
