A family-style stay.

I came by for a shandy because the inn has a beer garden right on the bike path to Bad Saarow. After a while, loud and aggressive political talk broke out at the next table. Conversation itself doesn't bother me, but that really didn't feel right for a beer garden, which should be somewhere everyone can relax. I later learned, a week afterward, that the AfD (Alternative for Germany) had held a party event there. To me, political debates belong in a city pub. I didn't find the beer garden peaceful or relaxing.

We haven't stayed overnight, so I can't say anything about the rooms, but we felt very comfortable having duck dinner at Gasthof Simke. Mrs. Simke was so welcoming, and the cozy family atmosphere made it a lovely visit. The food was delicious, and we'd be happy to come back. Highly recommend it.

I went in expecting a lot and somehow the meal and service still exceeded those expectations. It was a wonderful meal at a very rustic country inn, with excellent service. Highly recommended!

The zander and schnitzel were delicious again. We dropped in spontaneously for lunch around 12:30 and were done by 1:00 PM. Thanks so much for the lovely meal.
