Müritz Ferienpark Röbel

Cool.

The lakeside location is fantastic, but the heating, television, electric oven, and cooktop didn't work well. It wasn't very clean when we arrived, either. And in some parts of Röbel, there are outright rip-offs.

The apartment had adequate furnishings and a really well-equipped kitchen, but the photos on the holiday park's website didn't match it. The basement apartment felt neglected, as if no one had lived there for a long time or expected guests, even though we booked weeks ahead. On arrival, there was moldy kiwi peel in the kitchen bin, a clump of hair and a panty liner wrapper in the bathroom bin, and a used, greasy glass on the kitchen shelf. Spiders were everywhere in every room: corners, shelves, open cupboards, picture frames, pillows, and the stairwell. We vacuumed them up straight away, but found more each day and had to vacuum again. It was unpleasant and not relaxing at all. The patio furniture, blinds, and patio door were covered in webs, so we didn't want to go out or sit there. The lawn hadn't been mowed for weeks, and we never used the patio. We only opened the dining-side windows to air the apartment because all the others were full of spiders and webs. They were under the patio roof and on the blinds, too. If the area isn't properly maintained, they're everywhere. The receptionist was very friendly and sent a caretaker that same day. He mowed the lawn and cleaned the patio furniture, but spiders were crawling over it again the next day. The wastewater is handled by a sewage pump that starts after a few toilet flushes or while showering. It's incredibly loud, especially at night, and made it seem like the whole house was shaking. Our dog panicked and jumped out of bed every time. The bedroom was too small, with very narrow space on both sides of the bed. There wasn't enough room to put shoes straight in front of it, and no bedside shelf for an alarm clock, phone, or anything else. Between the house and hedge there was parking for three cars, but really only enough space for two.

The kitchen had everything we needed, and the jacuzzi and wood-burning stove made for a romantic atmosphere. My girlfriend, our sons, and I felt comfortable, even though we were staying at the edge of the complex. Very good all around. We'd happily come back.
