Hotel Godewind

I had a reservation, but an emergency came up on the way there. I called from the veterinary hospital in tears and asked if they could make an exception. I was willing to pay a fee, just not the full cost of the stay. I understand that hotels have policies, but customer service and a bit of humanity matter too. The woman on the phone could have offered different dates or a voucher, anything that might have kept me as a customer for another time. That kind of forward thinking clearly wasn't there. Thanks for nothing.

The hotel's restaurant was superb, and there are groceries and other restaurants nearby. It's a beautiful hotel in a quiet, wooded setting.

The rooms were clean, the pool was nice, and the beach is an easy walk away. They have an electric car charger and vegan items on the menu. Dogs are welcome too, though only in the downstairs eco rooms. The vegan food tasted bland. When we mentioned it to the waiter, he just laughed and pointed at the salt on the table. At breakfast we got some soy milk, but vegan yoghurt would have been good. We had also contacted the hotel about breakfast options, and when we asked about vegan food, they said they had fruit and vegetables.

Our family apartment was very quiet and gave us a great amount of space to come back to after long, relaxing days at the beach or exploring rostock. There were just two of us.
