Pension Captain Hook

You can get to the beach in just 3 minutes, which is great. We stayed in the holiday apartment "Galeere". The entrance is on the pedestrian street, so it was very noisy, and none of the windows could be opened wide.

The location was great, but the check-in and heating issues made the stay stressful. The key code didn't work, and we only got the Wi-Fi password after asking. At night the heating was completely off, and there was no way to change that. We also weren't told beforehand that road access was restricted. These are the kinds of things you don't need to deal with on vacation.

The apartment was roomy, with comfortable beds, and the location was fantastic, just a few steps from the beach, town center, and waterfront promenade. There was an underground parking space about 500 meters away. But the apartment itself is very dated and noisy. The flooring is badly worn, some kitchen cabinet panels are coming loose, the walls are stained, and the bathroom heater and shower fixtures are rusty. The equipment was disappointing too. The pillows were lumpy and poor quality, there was no wardrobe, and the kitchen supplies were counted out, with 6 cups and 6 plates for 4 people despite the large dishwasher. There were no coffee spoons, cake forks, or bottle opener. Some dishes were plastic, and the freezer compartment was completely iced over.

The bathroom was dirty when we got the apartment, and there wasn't even a shower mat. Some of the bed linen was stained, and there weren't enough dishes or cutlery. There was no Wi-Fi in the apartment either. The only real plus was the central location. For those prices, this felt like a poorly cleaned rabbit hutch.
