Stadthotel Rüsselsheim

Late check-in was easy, but I didn’t like seeing a sign with my name and check-in instructions on the entrance door. I’d booked one night based on Booking.com reviews, and left very disappointed. At check-out, reception was unattended at 8:30 a.m., despite signs saying it opened at 7:00 a.m. There’s no parking available at the hotel, only paid public lots around the pedestrian zone. My room was spacious but, in my opinion, poorly equipped. There was no bedside lamp or switch by the bed for the ceiling light, so I had to switch it off by the door and had no other light to use getting into bed or during the night. It smelled strongly, almost as if someone had regularly smoked there. The bathroom was clean but could use an update. The rooms are also extremely noisy, and you can almost clearly hear what people are saying next door. I’m used to much better for less money, and can’t recommend this hotel.

I stay here often for work and am very satisfied. The manager and staff are friendly and accommodating. If you need help or tips, for dinner or anything else, they’re available right away. It isn’t a Hilton, but the rooms are clean and furnished well enough.

I’ve stayed here now and then for Opel training. It’s great that Opel visitors get the same price even during the Frankfurt Trade Fair. My room is dated, but it’s a smoking room, so the older furniture makes sense. I’ve had a quick look at other rooms, which are bright and nicely furnished. Mine is fine for sleeping, and it’s always clean and cleaned daily. The one downside is that the shower water suddenly turns hot. I told the hotel owner, but I’m not sure whether anything has changed in the past few weeks.

The hotel is comfortable, tidy, and really inviting. It’s quiet despite being right in the city center, and everything you need is within walking distance. The rooms are clean and well equipped, and parking is available in a garage at a reasonable price.
