After ten days here in September 2023, I wouldn’t recommend Guesthouse Menkenbauer. It’s overpriced for what you get. The room furnishings need improvement and cleaning was infrequent. My booked guest room had an adequate bathroom, but the hairdryer was unusable. Wi-Fi was abysmal: it rarely connected, and when it did, it was only enough for reading. Breakfast was basic, and I’d recommend arriving by 9:00 AM. You can rent a garage, but it doesn’t lock. The hosts came across as very unfriendly and arrogant. If you want a pleasant stay, don’t ask too many questions.

Our family enjoyed the stay enough to add two more days. The rooms are lovingly furnished, and breakfast is included with something for every taste. The owners and staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, though problems aren’t always solved. It’s a small, fine hotel and guesthouse run by a family tradition. Highly recommended 👍
