The reception was very friendly, and it’s good value overall. The hotel is right in the center of Saalfeld, though the rooms are decent rather than modern. I was nearly too tall to stand in the shower and toilet box, and it smelled a bit. I’d never seen a bathroom built like a box before. Bikes can be locked away in the basement garage, which has limited access.

The location in Saalfeld is the best part, and the prices are fair. Staff were friendly and the service was great. Everything was clean and in good shape.
