LA Maison Hotel

The hotel and spa were the bright spots for our birthday stay booked with the Louis restaurant. The rooms were lovely, and the spa was quiet, clean, and well organized. The restaurant's Sommelier and the other service girl were both very nice, and some of the food was good, though other dishes were only okay. I had expected more. Before dessert I became so unwell that I had to leave my wife alone at the table. The only thing they asked her was whether they should keep bringing the dishes. After she finished, she wanted to pay but couldn't find anyone around. Things got worse when she returned to the room and also started feeling sick. We both ended up with food poisoning, and spent the night and morning dealing with it. We eventually got ourselves home, still ill and unable to eat or drink. We skipped breakfast, so I can't comment on it. When I called reception to explain we were unwell and ask for a late checkout and water, they seemed rather unbothered and sent sparkling water instead of still. At payment, it felt like we were in the way while the person was in a hurry to eat lunch and wanted us gone. The response to what happened was cold, with no sympathy, offer, or apology. We were too exhausted to argue about it, and we're not the sort of people to use this as a reason to avoid paying. It left a bad taste, literally. One birthday to remember, but not for the good things. Too bad. Written on 18.10.25

Breakfast was a highlight, fresh, tasty, and with plenty to choose from. We stayed one night on a bed and breakfast basis while travelling. The hotel is beautiful and has a relaxing spa that we really enjoyed, though the bad weather meant we couldn't use the outdoor pool, which was disappointing. Dinner in the bistro was good, but the room felt very quiet with only hotel guests dining on a Saturday night. It came across more like a midweek meal than a weekend out. Service was generally good, but a bit too formal and not especially warm. It was also disappointing that nobody acknowledged my birthday at check-in or dinner, which made things feel less personal. For the price, the stay didn't quite meet our expectations, even though the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. We wouldn't choose to return.

For more than two years we've been staying here, and the quality has stayed consistent. Service, rooms, and food are all top notch. It's one of the best places to stay in Saarlouis.

We found a hotel we'd happily return to. The staff were amazing, and the place delivered on every front. Nothing short of amazing, and definitely five stars.
