The breakfast is amazing, and coffee, tea, and drinks are available all day at unbelievably affordable prices. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s a very nice pension with a pleasant backyard and garden, just 5 minutes from the beach. I highly recommend it for Wattenmeer vacationers, and we’ll definitely come back.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty to choose from: several cheeses and cold cuts, jam, yogurt, fruit, muesli, eggs prepared in different ways, teas, rolls, bread, and delicious coffee. The service was wonderful too. My son was even served a freshly cooked fried egg at the table every morning. I booked four nights with my son (14). Check-in was contactless and very easy. We had room 1, right beside the breakfast room. It had everything we needed, with a small TV room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a little refrigerator. The room was charmingly furnished and very clean. After we arrived, we were looking forward to our first night, and slept very well in the freshly made bed. You can walk easily to the beach, with its lovely sand and small promenade. There’s a nice restaurant where you can relax or just enjoy the weather on the beach. It’s a wonderful area to explore by bike too. Unfortunately we had to leave today, but we would have loved to stay longer. Dear Zinnhardt family, thank you for your hospitality. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would love to come back.
We ended up watching TV in the common room because reception was sometimes poor, and I had to scan for channels myself since none were set up. Room 3 also had a door that sprang open unless we locked it. The room was noisy enough that we could hear other guests' toilets flushing. On the plus side, the owners were friendly and helpful, and easy to reach by phone or in person. The room was nicely furnished, though the bathroom was dated but usable. The beach was an easy walk away. Parking was available, sometimes in the cul-de-sac behind the house rather than right outside. The tourist tax was already included in the room.
I thought the German North Sea coast wasn't for me, since I'm more of an island person, but this bed and breakfast made me feel completely at ease. I’m so grateful, it really rescued my holiday. The balcony room was fantastic, especially sitting outside and looking over the forest. It was peaceful, clean, and still fairly close to town. Breakfast was delicious, the buffet was superb, and the staff were wonderful. Everything we could need was there. If you're heading to the coast, I'd definitely stay here, and I'd pick Sahlenburg over Duhnen or Döse. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Our hosts were friendly and capable, and when an issue came up they sorted it out as quickly as they could. The buffet breakfast had plenty of variety. Room 21 felt welcoming and was clean, and the brochure in the room was a useful guide to things to do nearby. The bathroom was small and a little dated, but clean and well supplied with soap, towels, and a hairdryer. The shower pressure was the one downside, so allow extra time if you have long hair. The guesthouse has a rustic, cozy feel and sits centrally, with everything within walking distance. The beach promenade is about 10-15 minutes away on foot. We'd happily come back.
