The town itself was lovely to wander around, peaceful and almost idyllic. Halle and Leipzig are an easy drive away, and Berlin is simple to reach by train. A few outlets didn’t work, which made keeping my phone charged a bit of a juggle with my three power banks, including charging one in the bathroom overnight. Still, I managed, and the good parts outweighed that inconvenience.

We couldn’t get the snowy castle visit we’d hoped for because the weather was so good, but it was still beautiful. I went there with my girlfriend a couple of days ago, and the place has its charm whether it’s sunny, rainy, or snowy. The garden is peaceful, and you can sit and watch the birds by the lake.

The owner has devoted her life to healing and supporting others, and our deep conversations about life and the world stayed with me. I also won’t forget the other volunteers I shared the experience with. From the lush garden to the zen meditation room, the whole stay brought a sense of positivity. The Healing Castle was one of those life changing experiences for me.

There are lovely wineries all around, and the nearby lake makes for a nice hike with plenty of chances to relax. The place itself is really great, too. The owner and concept changed recently, and that turned out perfectly.

The gardens around the castle are spectacular, and the accommodation manages to feel homely and elegant at once. It’s a beautiful 14th century gem. I stayed for over a month, and Ingrid (the owner) showed me so much love and kindness. My time with Ingrid and the healing castle will stay with me forever. Unforgettable.
