Hotel Schloss Rheinfels

We stayed three nights. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the whole property was very well maintained. The Rhine view is absolutely stunning, especially at mealtimes. The rooms weren’t anything special, but they were clean and well kept. The spa area is small, with only four loungers in the pool area and a rather small sauna. The menu isn’t extensive, and that could feel limiting on a longer stay if you don’t mind ordering the same dishes again. Still, everything we tried was very tasty, and I’d definitely recommend the hotel for a short getaway.

Everything else about the accommodation was wonderful. I do wish the lift served every floor, though. I had to carry heavy luggage up stairs from the ground floor to the first, then climb another steep flight from the top floor served by the lift on the third floor to reach my room. I twisted and hurt my knee. I hope it isn’t serious, but it may take time to recover.

We spent two nights, one in a comfort room and one in a standard room, and slept well both times. The beds were very comfortable and the river views were great. I’m not sure what distinguished the price categories, but the rates were reasonable either way and we were happy. We skipped the restaurant because the reviews were poor and ate twice in town.

The Rhine views from the deck and restaurant were amazing. It’s a beautiful hotel and spa, the food was great, and the staff were really helpful.
