The owners are friendly, and the rooms are very clean. There’s also a nice restaurant attached. A really good place.

The young server was very nice, but the rest of the meal was a real letdown. The cutlery on the table was dirty, the salad dressed only with vinegar essence was inedible, and my chicken burger was the worst I’ve ever had. Its bun was ice cold despite the grill marks, like it had come straight from the fridge. Three small chicken pieces were drowned in cocktail sauce with a lettuce leaf, and that was all for €15.50. The Goros was no better. The tiny pieces of meat ranged from very soft to rock hard, and who knows what they’d been through. That wasn’t fresh or tasty. The fries were poor too, and I’ll say nothing about the vegetables. The tzatziki was the best part, though I’m not sure what was Greek about the meal. The dried herbs on the plate certainly weren’t. With three beers, the whole thing came to almost €46.00. We first sat outside because it was a warm lunchtime, but the atmosphere was completely run-down and ugly, with smelly artificial turf covering the floor. What was the owner trying to say with that? We moved inside, where he seemed to have aimed for a contemporary style but hadn’t quite pulled it off. Of course, taste is a matter of opinion.

The meal was solid and good value, with nothing fancy about it. We had fresh salad, nicely seasoned meat cooked just right, and a generous dessert to finish. The aperitif was delicious too. Getting there was easy, with private parking, and we were warmly welcomed and shown to a table on the wooden terrace near the greenery. We didn’t find any staff unfriendly, as some reviews suggest. Everyone was very friendly without hovering.

The breakfast buffet had everything we needed, and at €7 it was excellent, even with the pre-baked rolls that are so common these days. Other hotels charge €10 to €12 for the same sort of rolls. Everything was clean, the price was fair, and the owner was very nice. We’ll stay here again when we’re working nearby.

We stopped in Sankt Ingbert on our way back from France, and the hotel was in a great location. Our room was very clean and big enough for the two of us. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. There’s a forest close by where I could walk my dog in the morning.
