We didn’t stay at the hotel, so we can’t rate it. The restaurant had a calm, peaceful atmosphere, and we caught a lovely late-afternoon sunset, especially nice for that time of year. We’d recommend eating there, though I prefer fish to meat and had expected something exceptional. The food gets 4 stars, but I’d have liked the fish a bit saltier.

Whenever we visit Binz, we make a point of going to this restaurant. The fishplate for two is very, very tasty, and our kids enjoy the food too.

The room was basic but clean, with water visible through the trees. The stay wasn’t especially charming or memorable, and the decor felt somewhat dated. We could have overlooked the downsides if the staff had been a little friendlier. There were some smells and noise from the restaurant below. Parking was 400m away and somewhat expensive at 15€/day. Our reservation gave an official checkout time of 11am, but reception told us 10am, and the cleaning lady knocked right at 10am. There was one pillow and basic soap and shampoo, nothing more. There was no bottled drinking water in the room, which is quite standard across Germany.

With its great atmosphere and friendly staff, this restaurant really impressed us. It’s near the harbour, and you can see the sea through the windows. The food was really good, and the portions were large. It deserves more than 5 stars.
