Hello Ms. Remmers and team, The Casa Strandperle and its outdoor area are fantastic. You can tell a lot of effort goes into everything, and we always feel very comfortable staying with you. The beach is right outside, the town center isn’t far, and the shopping center is within walking distance. The location is perfect, and we’re already looking forward to our next holiday with you. Mrs. Tietz is a real gem, and the apartment has been furnished so well that they’ve thought of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casa Sandstrand holiday apartment. It’s a fantastic spot, with the beach just across the street, and even in November it was beautiful. We’d love to come back!

With six people, you’d expect someone to find something to complain about, but everyone was happy. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment, which is high-quality and lovingly furnished, something that’s rare these days. The key fairy was attentive and always there when we needed help, so we felt very well looked after. The location couldn’t be better. Restaurants and a supermarket are within walking distance, and the beach is just a quick stroll away. The apartment’s own beach chairs were ready for us to hop into.

We booked CASA MEERBLICK in the old customs house through Booking for 3 adults and 2 small children, and paid €3,000 for almost 10 days, accommodation only. Looking back, that feels like an enormous amount, even for the Baltic Sea. I contacted the landlady about the issues during and after the stay. Because of the problems, especially the steep stairs, we temporarily moved into an additional small apartment, which was very kind and accommodating of her. I’m outraged that she later said she’d described the apartment to me beforehand and offered me another one. That simply isn’t true. When I asked whether she had me mixed up with someone else, I got no answer. She said the other tenants had always been happy and grateful to stay there, which makes it surprising that we weren’t comfortable. We found the apartment cramped and unpleasant, so we left two days early. A few of the main problems: - The photos are very cleverly done. They show so much decoration instead of the rooms, which says a lot. We’ve learned from that for our next trip. - The stairs to the apartment are extremely steep. They’re almost impossible to manage with foot problems, and very difficult for older people, people with walking disabilities, or children. There’s no regular key either, just an ancient lock that only catches in one particular position. It’s a struggle to open it while standing on the narrow landing with shopping. - Two of the three bedrooms can’t really be used because of the sloping ceilings. The lower bedroom on the right is called a sleeping chamber on other websites. You can more or less only lie down in it, with no room to move. There’s just a bed, no cupboard or dresser, and nowhere to put anything. We booked an apartment with three bedrooms. - The attic is also limited by the sloping ceiling and only usable for short people. It has no wardrobe or dresser either, and doesn’t really work as a bedroom. - We expected an additional toilet, but there’s only one to share between six people. The bathroom opens directly off the dining room, about 2 meters from the table. Sound carries badly throughout: the doors have gaps about a finger’s width and can’t be locked because there are no keys. The bathroom is very basic apart from the tiles, the showerheads are a disaster, and the shower curtain was moldy at the bottom. - There’s no washing machine, even though the listing explicitly says there is one. That’s very annoying if you’re counting on it, especially with children. - The layout is generally disastrous. The living room has no TV or sofa, only a daybed frame. - You can hear everything, both within the apartment and through the house. We heard the people downstairs talking and their dog. - The terrace isn’t useful because of the heavy traffic. It faces the street, with the hedge blocking the view. - The listing promises a sea view. You can see the sea, but you also see the very busy street. With the sloping ceiling, standing by the window to look at the sea isn’t much of an option. This apartment is far too expensive and absolutely not worth the price. We looked at other places at the time and spoke with other people, and found nicer, more affordable options. It might work for parents with children, but definitely not for six people.
