Seasides Villa Kunterbunt

The children had a blast on the zip line and climbing frame, and played tennis every day. The garden is lovely, too. The neighbor's dogs barked quite a bit, and you do need to watch out on the veranda because it's pretty dilapidated. The road around the corner didn't bother us. We came as two adults with three children and a dog, and we're planning to return next year. The house is large and a bit rustic, but nobody minded. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly, so we called the caretaker using the number we had on file, and he took care of it. We highly recommend the place. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster, coffee maker and kettle, but there were very few kitchen utensils, so bring some along. There's no oven. All in all, we had a successful family holiday.

There's a huge garden with toys, a zip line, a slide and more. The house is surrounded by trees and bushes on the driveway side, but the driveway itself is very narrow. My Mondeo barely fit, and squeezing through was an adventure every time. The beds were a plus, and everything was clean and very spacious, apart from the bathroom, which I didn't like. The front door is frosted glass, so you can see right in, and the small window on the other side lets people see into the bathroom from the parking area. The bathroom door sticks and scrapes the floor, with screws half sticking out of the wall. Still, it was clean, and hot water and heating were fine. It's hard to describe this “villa.” Pippi Longstocking would feel right at home. If you like a rustic place and don't mind looking after yourself, you'll probably enjoy it, but it won't suit everyone.

The hostess came across as very competent and warm-hearted. Thank you. The special booking app for guests was easy to use and answered all kinds of questions about the apartment and local activities. We stayed a few short days in Villa Kunterbunt No. 2. It's spacious and nice, and the garden is great. You really feel like you're in Pippi Longstocking's house. I'd rate the apartment three out of ten overall. The house is right next to the street. Even with a fence, I worried the children might wander into traffic. The neighbor's dogs barked whenever we were outside, including when we were out with our own dog. The dogs, constant traffic and children made for quite a disruptive noise level. The garden play area and zip line are a great idea, but I think they need safety improvements, like a sturdier frame for the cable car. There were a few things we missed: hooks for jackets and other things, since the only option was the closet, and a starter kitchen kit with a tea towel, sponge and similar items. The ventilation was also annoyingly loud whenever the lights were on, despite the windows in both the bathroom and bedroom. There was no oven, either. If those small things were fixed, I'd give it another star. The location just doesn't appeal to us.

Getting to the property by car was awkward because the access area is extremely narrow. Inside, the walls were white but dirty, and the TV room and dining area had no window, just a skylight high up. The TV was fixed near the ceiling, so my neck would get stiff after a few minutes, and it only had four channels. The sofa was unacceptable: it seated only two, leaving everyone else on wooden chairs. There was no toilet paper when we arrived. In the kitchen, the sockets were coming out of the walls, the faucet had been patched, and without a sink plug we had to wash dishes under running water.
