One of the key boxes was empty when we finally got to it, which made an already awful check-in experience even worse. The hotel allows self check-in for arrivals as late as 7:30 PM, but the process is badly designed and unnecessarily complicated. Although we had two rooms on one reservation, we couldn’t check them in together. We had to enter our personal details, provide credit card information, and pay separately for each room. Then a WhatsApp message sent us to a link on the website, where the key box code was eventually available, though it wasn’t displayed clearly or straight away. We called the number on the boxes and waited a long time before a woman answered. She didn’t speak English, and she started shouting before she’d understood what the problem was. That was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It feels like a typical German highway hotel that’s seen better days.

The late arrival online check-in worked perfectly, so we’ll definitely stay here again when we’re passing through. As a roadside hotel, it was definitely a 4+ star experience. The room was clean and simply renovated, with plenty of TV channels for relaxing. The morning buffet was quite nice and had a good variety, and the ladies at reception and in the kitchen deserve 5 stars for their service.

The beds and bathroom were clean enough, and having reception open 24 hours a day is perfect for a one-night stop before heading south. But the rest of the hotel was very dirty. It hadn’t been vacuumed, the toilets were dirty, and the buffet service area was dirty too.

A cold night made this even worse. I’d booked the hotel and completed remote check-in, but when I arrived it was simply closed. The doorbell didn’t work, and none of the phone numbers worked either. I wasted an hour trying to get in. A total scam and a really unpleasant experience.

The prices were very decent, and the beds were OK. The rooms could have been a little cleaner. We arrived at 20:55, just before the kitchen closed at 21, but they still served us dinner. Good service.
