Chalets am National Park Eifel

We spotted all kinds of wildlife from this tidy, cozy cottage, including fish, badgers, and deer. It's in a quiet village surrounded by nature, with lovely hiking trails starting right at the cabin. The owners were very friendly, and the cottage was neat and clean. Highly recommended.

We were thrilled with our two days in the chalets. They were warm and cozy, furnished to a high standard, and had everything we needed for a peaceful, relaxing break. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, and looked after us really well.

Having alpacas just outside was a treat. Watching them go about their day over morning coffee was relaxing and fun. The houses are small, but have everything you need, and it's wonderfully quiet and idyllic. The owner was friendly and easygoing. There are plenty of walks nearby, plus a wildlife observation hide. Dreiborn is known for its broom blossoms in May, and you can also take a recommended walk around the village. It's a small place on a lovely plateau, with a pretty castle you can photograph from outside, though it's privately owned. For breakfast, Krupp café serves very good food, along with coffee and cake. There's also the Bauernschänke for a decent dinner. I'd recommend the brewery in Gemünd even more. It's a few kilometres away, in the larger town where you can do your shopping. You can also visit Vogelsang, the former Nazi training center right by Rursee, or head to the lake itself.

The area was fantastic, and we got great tips on things to explore and restaurants. We were welcomed so warmly, and the chalet was beautiful and cozy.
