We stayed at the pension while walking the Eifelsteig, and the accommodation was excellent. It was clean and modern, and breakfast was fresh and very good. The owner went out of her way to cater for our vegan diet, something that didn’t always happen at the other hotels and pensions where we stayed. Highly recommended.

My friend and I were caught out in a storm in Gemund with our bikes, and the hosts were kind enough to open a room for us. They let us store the bikes safely too. After nights camping, the clean room and amazing bed felt wonderful. The hosts were so helpful despite the language barrier, and breakfast was great. They made it feel homey while still keeping it Corona proof.

The guesthouse itself is lovely, with a tasteful modern update, pine paneling, patio doors, and little balconies in the rooms. But the stay felt rather unwelcoming. Check-in and checkout were limited to 16.30-19 and 9-10, and the managers have their own Covid rules about masks and vaccination certificates. I found that odd, since no other German accommodation I'd recently stayed at had asked for this and it wasn't official German policy at the time. I couldn't show a certificate and even offered to leave, but they let me stay after all, though not very warmly.
